Kalaburagi: Attacks on Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) continue even after the state government issuing a stern warning against the same. In Kalaburugi, a person who is under quarantine, broken an ASHA worker’s hand because there was no chicken for dinner on Friday night.

The incident is reported from the Kinni Abbas village under the Madarana Hipparaga police station limits in the Kalaburugi district’s Alanda taluk.

According to the initial reports, five relatives of a local resident by name Somanatha Kamble have been placed under institutional quarantine as they arrived from Mumbai recently. On Friday night, he allegedly broke the hand of an ASHA worker named Renuka Kudaki as there was no chicken for dinner.

“Kamble was demanding chicken for dinner. Renuka had informed him that she will bring the issue to the notice of the senior officials. He also demanded chips for his family members. When Renuka denied this, she was attacked,” said sources in the taluk administration.

Renuka has been admitted to the Alanda taluk hospital for treatment.
