Kalaburgi: President of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Dr Manu Baligar has opined that, in order to eradicate the fear of extinction of the Kannada language, a rejuvenation of the language is required.
Addressing the gathering at the 85th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana on Wednesday, February 5, he said, “If the Kannada language is to be sustained, a rejuvenation of the language becomes very vital. It is observed that in recent times, those who call themselves ‘Kannadigas’ they have lost interest in nurturing the language. Currently, due to the influence of western languages, the Kannada language has been affected by different forms of Kannada. Such conventions will help protect and nurture the Kannada language.”
Dr Manu opined that the ‘Kalyana Karnataka’ region has developed immensely in the recent past with more employment opportunities for the people residing in the region and hence, it is important for all pro-Kannada organizations to join hands and work for the development of the state.
Meanwhile, a Kannada literature supporter urged the government that the Akhila Bharata Kannada Sammelana should have a permanent logo of its own.
