Kalaburagi: With Congress leader Umesh Jadhav all set to embrace the BJP, former DCM and BJP leader R Ashok has said that the coalition government has lost one wicket and many more wickets will be lost soon.
“The pitch has been kept ready for PM Narendra Modi here. The BJP will be further strengthened in Hyderabad-Karnataka,” he said adding that Kalaburagi, which was a Congress bastion will now become a strong fort of the BJP.
“Jadhav joining the BJP has given a lot of strength to the party. Modi will start campaigning for the party in the state from Kalaburgi,” he said.
Ashok further said that the BJP is open to Sumalatha Ambareesh contesting from the BJP ticket from Mandya if she wishes. He said that the party has not yet decided if the BJP will back Sumalatha in case she contests as independent candidate.
