College student on scooter dies with slit throat

Kalaburgi: In a tragic incident, a student lost her life after a sharp cutting tool of a shepherd accidentally slit her throat, here on Friday, April 12.

The deceased girl is Meghana Neelakanta (20) who was a student of PDA Engineering College.

Meghana was riding on her scooter to the college when a shepherd on his bicycle with a cutting tool placed in a horizontal position on the cycle overtook her. He then took an abrupt left turn. Meghana who was just behind on her scooter tried her level best to apply brakes and stop her scooter. Unfortunately, as the scooter skidded, her neck was exposed to the cutting tool. As a result, her throat was slit leaving her bleeding excessively.

According to the police, even though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead.

Meanwhile, the shepherd has abandoned his cycle and is absconding.
