Kalburgi: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and its frontal organisation Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh’s mindset has not changed to this day and are still treating the Dalits as untouchables, said senior Congress leader and Opposition Leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
Is the state BJP president doing a great favour to Dalits by having food in their houses? Are Dalits sinners? Does any other colour flow in their veins apart from red?, questioned Kharge, taking strong exception to B S Yeddyurappa browbeating Dalits in the guise of having food with them.
Dalits eat the same food as others eat and serve the same to guests and not feed poison, said Kharge defending Dalit community.
About allegation of Rahul visiting temple after having non-vegetarian food , Kharge said, “BJP has run out of all issues and did not have anything concrete to take on Congress president and hence resorted to ‘bunch of lies.’ Terming BJP leaders as expert liars, Kharge said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Shivaraj Thagadagi had already clarified on the issue.
