Bengaluru: At a juncture when political parties and ideologies spark debates and fights, two elected representatives from two diverse ideologies decided to get married.
Rukmini Kamdar, Afzalpur Taluk Panchayat President and Bhimashankar Honnakeri, Vice-President of the same Taluk Panchayat got married to each other in a simple wedding ceremony, on July 14.
While Rukmini is a BJP leaders, Bhimashankar is a Congressman. Both fell in love with each other and decided to spend their life together. The two got married at Jidaga Math at Alanda taluk.
Afzalpur is a small town in Kalaburugi district.
Rukmini is representing Chaudapura constituency while Bhimashankara is representing Karajaga. Leaders of both the parties attended the simple marriage ceremony and blessed the newly wed couple.
Meanwhile, the complaints of the bride and the groom violating the lockdown guidelines is being heard. It may be recalled that the Kalaburgi district administration had denied permission for marriage ceremonies and has allowed only weddings at the sub-registrar’s office.
