Hubballi: Gadag is the first city from Karnataka to be completely WiFi-enabled. There will free internet coverage in 25 locations across the city. Government buildings such as old bus stand, DC’s office, and new court and tourism destinations will have internet coverage.
Public sector telecom service provider BSNL which undertook the project has almost finished installing internet service at 25 places. It will be formally commissioned on Wednesday. Each of the 25 WiFi hotspots will deliver 2 MBPS speed accommodating up to 1,000 users with 200 MB free per person each day.
