Gadag: As the ‘Karnataka Bundh’ called by various pro-Kannada organization for the implementation of the Sarojini Mahishi Report received a mixed response, state home minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that the government has already taken the matter very seriously and has accepted the report.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, February 13 he said, “The government has accepted the Sarojini Mahishi Report and its appeal of providing reservation in jobs to Kannadigas. At the government level, already serious discussions are underway. Even though we are deciding to implement the report, there are some loopholes, which need to be rectified. An effort in this regard is also being made.”
“As state education and sakala minister Suresh Kumar has spoken on this topic, considering and listing out all the important points from the report, we assure you all that a policy to provide jobs to Kannadigas on priority basis will be formed”, he added.
