It’s never bad to have your own style that sets you apart from the crowd. However, a man from the UK has taken his style back to the Regency era by shunning modern-day fashion for clothes from the 1800s.
But unlike other fashion enthusiasts who experiment with different clothes, 25-year-old Zack Pinsent wants to wear historical clothes for the rest of his life. He is pretty serious about his decision.
Zack has been dressing up as a gentleman from the Regency era ever since he burnt his last pair of jeans at the age of 14. Now, he can often be spotted in his hometown of Brighton wearing a top hat.
The 25-year-old has successfully turned his passion for historical dresses into a profession of sorts. He now designs clothes for a number of customers who want a feel of the classic era. “It’s hard for men, we can’t show exuberance but I love what I do and I’m only doing it for my own enjoyment,” Zack was quoted by Metro.
“At 14, I made the symbolic decision to burn my only pair of jeans in a bonfire, it was a real turning point. On non-school uniform days I would dress in three-piece suits, but when I got to the sixth form I started to dress in historical clothing every single day,” he added.
Zack said that he was even voted the best-dressed student in high-school. On a regular day, he wears a pair of knee-high leather boots, a riding jacket and a floral waistcoat of varied colours.
After 2010, the only time Zack wore regular clothes was when he was invited to an 80s themed party.
“I was really tempted to dress up as someone from the 1780s and ask which century they meant, I decided against it but next time I will,” said Zack.
Zack’s obsession with historic clothes began when he came across a box of his grandfather’s old suits.
