But with a small gesture, one fan present during the match broke all stereotypes by singing the Indian national anthem while donning the Pakistan flag.
The man’s sweet gesture has touched a chord with thousands on the Internet. It may be very small, but goes a long way in establishing peace between the two neighbouring countries.
The footage initially went viral on Instagram and was shared recently by a popular peace advocacy group — Voice of Ram.
As the video went viral, the man commented on the Facebook post and identified himself as Adil Taj. “That’s me guys. Thanks for sharing. Peace only. No nonsensical wars. Spread Love,” he wrote.
