Hyderabad traffic cop composes songs to spread awareness on social evils and crime

Hyderabad: Awareness messages with long texts and simple visuals seem to have become boring. To catch the attention of people, one needs to be creative. A cop from Telangana has come up with an innovative way to spread awareness about social evils and crimes.

A Nagamallu, a traffic police personnel in Hyderabad, composes songs based on social evils and crimes. He has composed about 20 songs which he has shared on social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.

The Telugu songs sung by the traffic inspector of LB Nagar has caught the attention of people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He has also been praised by higher officials.

While speaking to news agency ANI about his creative way of spreading awareness messages through songs, the policeman said, “I have been doing this since 2012. The present generation is attracted to entertainment, therefore I thought this was the best way to create awareness among people on different social evils.

Nagamallu further said that he is helped by a team of 21 youngsters in his initiative. The cop said that the commissioner of police Mahesh M Bhagwat is his inspiration as he has been a constant guiding support in the composition of songs.

Nagamallu’s songs have gone viral on social media. He added, “The most appreciated songs were regarding the menace of fake news on social media and a song with the theme motivating the youngsters to join uniform services.”

The police official aims to reach out to people across the country to spread awareness through his songs.
