After ‘farrago’, Tharoor now gives us ‘rodomontade’

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s extensive vocabulary has often left his Twitter followers flummoxed. His lexicon has made him the butt of quite a few jokes over the years. He has a habit of impressing people by throwing up one complex word after another on the micro-blogging platform. The selection of his words often leaves everyone scratching their head and rushing to grab dictionaries. It is even said that tough exams like TOEFL can be cracked by simply following Tharoor.

After introducing us to ‘farrago’ sometime back, Tharoor has now given us a new word ‘rodomontade’. The Thiruvanathapuram MP used this word in a tweet where he was ironically trying to justify his choice of glossary. For the uninitiated, rodomontade means ‘boastful or inflated talk or behaviour’.

This time around, Tharoor managed to bowl over not just mere mortals, but even politicians like Omar Abduallah. The former J&K CM advised everyone to follow Tharoor if they wanted to learn English.

And as expected, the tweet soon went viral and Twitter was over the place trying to decipher it.

Some tried to answer Tharoor back in the language he understands.

Some wondered why couldn’t Tharoor be more simpler.

Here’s hoping Tharoor never stops ‘vocabularically’ trolling us ever.
