Mangaluru: ‘As you protect our family on the borders, we will protect your family’s health with our ‘Abhinandan Offer’ says a city-based fitness centre ‘My Gym’ (Gold’s Gym) located at Karangalpady near Bunts Hostel.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman became a real hero after his plane was shot down in a dogfight, captivated by the Pakistan military forces and returned to India now. His heroism is an inspiration to those who want to join our military forces. Inspired by his bravery here is a fitness center ‘My Gym’ in Mangaluru, which has announced fitness training to the family members of military forces at the discount rate of 70 percent.

‘My Gym’ fitness centre belongs to one Chethanchandra Bhat.

If a person from a military background or his far relative is in Indian military force, he can avail gym training at the discount rate of 70 percent. Though this gym offers fitness training for the duration of one month, three months, six months and 12 months, this special offer is only for the duration of three months. Usually, normal members have to pay Rs 7,500 for three months. However, as per the special ‘Abhinandan Offer’, a family member or a far-relative of soldiers can get training by paying only Rs 2,250.

Joshua Bangera, Manager of ‘My Gym’ told newskarnataka.com that two people have already approached and expressed their willingness to join the gym after noticing the Abhinandan offer. ” Our intention is to promote more people to enrol into our security forces. I have observed that many teenage boys, despite their family members being in military forces, they neither follow a systematic food habit nor engage in basic physical exercises. Being physically fit doesn’t just mean having a strong body. While strength is important, physical fitness also means increased flexibility, faster recovery from illness or injury, improved endurance, and much more”, he said.

Joshua Bangera clarified that it is not a gimmick of attracting youth to his gym. “Though we fixed this special offer for the duration of three months, we are ready to extend it for a longer duration if needed. We want to know the response of people to this special offer now. If a family needs support from us, we are ready to extend our support”, he said.

Former president of DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association Col N S Bhandary expressed his pleasure over the unique move of ‘My Gym’. “It is a good opportunity for the family members of those who serve our nation. “Physical fitness is very essential to enrol into military forces. As ‘My Gym’ has introduced this special offer, inspired by the bravery of Abhinandan, those keen on serving this nation should utilise this unique offer”, he said.
