Ever heard the gushing sound that a wave makes when it falls from the vast sea? It keeps you calm and teaches you to be at serendipity. Waves can often be related to the highs and lows in life, but what if it’s a tsunami? No worries! You tune in and jam in to it! That’s what happens when you mix music and the treacherous wave: The Sangeeth Tsunami!

While you recollect what show I am talking about, the father-daughter duo have again set the stage on fire with their very own musical performance: a nostalgic ride to the world of retro music. With the corona virus striking us again, all of us have been confined to our homes, figuring out a way to life. But the tuneful melodies and rhythm had definitely allowed the audience to escape from reality! That’s right. The Sangeeth Tsunami 4 had been successfully streamed on platforms such as Facebook, through the handles of Newskarnataka.com and Youtube, bagging 17,000 views and over 5,000 views respectively! The live concert was held on April 16th, at 6:30pm. As you can imagine, a wonderful evening to begin with!

If there is one thing that can bind any stranger with another, is their taste in music. The live concert was flourishing with the dad and the daughter bringing about families together, at home or miles away, in a situation of uncertainty. That’s the power of uncertainty: It brings people together and unites them with strength to face the obstacles of tomorrow. Sangeeth Tsunami 4 was one such beautiful effort to strengthen this bond of belongingness. This musical concert was however organised by none other than The Melba Events & Arrangements, making it an authentic one.

Melba Events and Arrangements: Masters of entertainment and fun

Lights, Camera, Action! This is what one would say when the cameras get rolling. But Sangeeth Tsunami has inevitably captured our minds with their various range of music: planned and well- organised by Melba Events and Arrangement. Being in the industry for over more than 13 years in the field of music, entertainments and other related events. Not to forget, this event management company is ruled by our very own Rony Crasta, who has been in the music industry since 36 years. He has made history by composing music and rendering them in all local, national, and international levels, conveying that music has no limit or geographical boundaries. The avid musician has also been part of the show namely ‘Konkani Antakshari’ by being the prominent judge, along with doing the same for other prominent organisations and associations in the music industry, also co-producing several movies.

The very root of this show lies in the bonding that both the father and daughter share, along with other musicians who tune in to their melody. It was then when Rishal Mabel Crasta, a baby girl that was born in their family, inherited her father’s talent. Her melodic voice led her to sing along with her  father at the SKA London, and also won the first place at the singing competition held by Pupparama and the Konkani Sabha, leading her to being popularly known as ‘Kiliyarreya Phosal’. At the Sangeeth Tsunami 3, she was a star attraction, and at Sangeeth Tsunami 4, she was undoubtedly the star!

A time-travelling musical night

A great song should lift your heart, warm the soul and make you feel good. – Colbie Caillat

Music with words is empty, as it lies in the tune that makes it speak. It has no borders with lingual practice or origin of culture. Hindi, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Malayalam songs were sung by prominent artists like Shanti, Alwin, Kevin, Avil, Riyona,  Melreen, Arwin, Asha, Vian, Jyothi, and Winston; backed up by Rajesh Rajendra Karkala for the background scores.

After the introductory musical prayers, the first performance was carried out by Rony Crasta which described the journey of life, which said “Monshache Jeevith Pole” meaning Look at the life of humans. The song describes that out of the life of 4 days, a man gets drowned in the misery of life. But when he leaves, he doesn’t take anything. Any person confined at their homes can certainly relate with the current situation around.

The MC introduced Nolita, who currently works at The Public Health Foundation of India, prominently updating the COVID data of 11 countries; who carried out the program.  Kevin, prominent speaker and singer, Avil, lecturer at St Anthony College, Naravi. Mr. Kevin started off with a heart-whelming opening to the musical night,  “Long time ago, when the tsunami had struck Japan, we couldn’t even pronounce the word correctly. When our country faced the same, we finally understood the meaning of it.”

From ‘Tere naina sawan bado’  by Rony Crasta ‘Nazar ke saamne’ by Rony Crasta and Jyothi Chandrashekar,  to ‘Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye’  by Vian Barboza; the musical evening certainly stole all our hearts. The rhythm and the lyrics entangled with their voice took us back to a memory that we can never get back. Asha Dsouza sung ‘Punvecha Raathi’ which was composed by Rony Crasta.

If there is one song that can be instilled in our heads and hearts, it is none other than the masterpiece ‘Na ninna mareyalaare’, orginaly sung by Dr Rajkumar And S.Janaki. Well, it wasn’t the end! It was Rishal’s birthday that enticed us, which was celebrated on screen embarking their remarkable journey in the industry. At the end, the melodious night ended with the song ‘Tu tu hai wahi’ sung by Rony himself.  It was not just a musical night, but a fam-jam for all of us to gather and recollect the good old days!
