Mumbai: Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited opened its 100th branch at Dharvesh Grand, IV cross, near Khar (West) railway station on Saturday, August 20.
Borivali MP Gopal C Shetty who was the chief guest of the event said that the poor and middle income groups prefer co-operative banks than national banks because of honesty and loyal service. Co-operative Banks are succor of common man to fulfill their banking needs, he said.
Bunts Justice Committee founder president M D Shetty and MP Gopal inaugurated the new branch and ATM kiosk. The Bank chairman Jaya Suvarna inaugurated the strong room.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman and Billawa Jagruti Balaga presidnet N T Poojary said, “It is a historical day for the Billawa community as Bharat Bank promoted by Billawar Association Mumbai has opened one-hundredth branch in India”.
M D Shetty said on the occasion that the bank is seeing a success only because of the farsighted plans of Chairman Jaya Suvarna. The rate of interest offered by the co-operative banks makes a lot of difference to customers, he said.
