‘Awareness on investments in capital markets low among public’

Mysuru: The National Stock Exchange (NSE), in association with the National Securities Depository (NSDL) and SDMIMD will be organizing an investor awareness programme at the SDMIMD campus, Chamundi Hill road on August 23 at 6 pm.

M Sriram, Assistant Professor in Finance, SDMIMD said, “The basic idea of the programme is to sensitize the public at large about investment avenues in capital markets. The regulatory authority is of the view that awareness on investments in capital markets is very low among the public. The NSE is taking a series of initiatives to spread awareness and one such initiative is the lecture on Thursday. The program will broadly covering topics which include avenues of investments, rights and obligations of investors and how to manage one’s portfolio”.

“The programme is open to the public, and there is no registration fee. The programme will be helpful for both investment novices as well as those who have already invested and have persistent doubts about the markets. The platform will provide an opportunity for the participants to interact with officials from NSE, NSDL, and Integrated Enterprises Ltd (Depository Participant). N R Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, and other officials will be delivering talks during the programme. The event will culminate with a question and answer session,” he said.
