Mumbai: Amid growing demand for a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has said that there is no need for a CBI probe as the Mumbai police is capable of handling the investigations.

34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, at his residence. Since then the Mumbai police has been investigating the suspicious death of the actor even as the general public has demanded a CBI probe into the case as there seems to be a foulplay.

Death of Sushant had kicked off a debate on nepotism and Bollywood biggie gangs that suppress outsiders who make it to the industry. Meanwhile, names of several filmmakers have been connected to the case.

However, in a major turn of events, Sushant’s father K K Singh filed a complaint against Sushant’s rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborthy and her family and accused her of cheating and threatening Sushant, which led him to commit suicide.
