Fans were delighted after news surfaced that Actor Irrfan Khan had begun to respond to his medication. It was director Shoojit Sircar who gave the news that the star, who was suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour and was undergoing treatment in Europe, has slowly started to respond to his treatment.
He also told the media that Irrfan would be playing the lead role in his upcoming project, which is based on the life of the freedom fighter Udham Singh.
Udham Singh had executed former lieutenant governor of Punjab Michael O’dwyer in the early British India, to avenge those who were massacred in the Jallianwala Bagh incident in 1919.
Shoojit said that he had spoken to both Irrfan and his wife Sutapa Sikdar, and revealed that the actor was reacting well to the treatment.
Irrfan had also tweeted a few days ago about his comeback in Bollywood and his upcoming film “Karwaan”, being directed by Akash Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala which will hit the screens on August 10.
Shoojit also rubbished rumours of Ranbir Kapoor being roped in for Udham Singh’s biopic during the release of “October.” Irrfan and Shoojit previously collaborated for the film “Piku” and “Udham Singh” will be their second project together. The film is set to hit the screens by the end of 2018.
