While many prominent figures have been exposed for the first time as sexual predators or harassers in the wake of the #MeToo movement, some have seen a fresh wave of accusations after a long time. Allegations of rape against Karima Morani, the producer of “Chennai Express”, resurfaced on Thursday, October 11.
Based on the allegations by a Delhi-based aspiring actress, Morani was booked for rape, criminal intimidation, wrongful confinement and cheating in January last year. Apart from this, Morani was also accused in the 2G scam.
According to the woman, Morani had raped her under the pretext of marriage and sexually exploited her by threatening to post her nude photos and videos on social media. This, according to her, happened in 2015, when she was 21-years-old.
In a recent interview with the Republic TV, the actress gave a detailed account of her ordeal with Morani and questioned how someone like Shah Rukh Khan could work with someone like Morani.
