Dharwad: “Ensuring basic facilities to civilians is termed as social justice. If every human being has to live happily, then equal rights and facilities should be provided to all in the society”, said Principal District and Sessions Judge V Shreeshanand.

To overcome the imbalance in the society and guide the government, International Social Justice Day is being observed, he stated.

Speaking after inaugurating a programme on the occasion of International Social Justice Day in Dharwad, the judge said every citizen in this country had the right to lead a dignified life and command respect. As few people are still struggling to get justice, the governments have been constantly launching empowerment programmes. These programmes can be successful only if they reach the target groups and bring them to the mainstream, he opined.

The District Legal Service Authority has been offering legal services to the people and those who are unable to benefit from the government programmes can write their problems along with their address to the Legal Cell, he informed.

ZP CEO R Snehal who presided over said the government was going all-out to reach the fruits of government schemes to the genuine beneficiaries residing in rural parts.

Dharwad Bar Association President V D Kamraddi and Labour Department Assistant Commissioner Revanna also spoke.
