Dharwad: A youth was brutally beaten to death by another youth over a petty issue on Wednesday night in Narendra village near Dharwad on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Irappa Hosakeri (30) and the rural police have arrested the main accused Altaf Sayyed Nadaf of the same village in this connection.
It is said Basavaraj had borrowed about Rs 5,000 from Altaf and over the period of time he had failed to return the money. On Wednesday, Altaf went to Basavaraj’s house and demanded back his money. The verbal dual between them led to a fight and the enraged Altaf allegedly hit Irappa with a wooden stick in his house injuring the latter grievously. Irappa succumbed to injuries.
SP Dharmendrakumar Meena visited the spot. A case has been registered with Dharwad Rural police station.
