Dharwad: District In-charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni has asked officials to expedite development works in Dharwad-71 Legislative constituency for which Rs. 21 Crore grant has been given out of Rs. 100 Crore released by the chief minister.
Speaking to reporters after hearing public grievances at Kolikere tank at Hosayallapur area in Dharwad on Thursday, minister said development works under special grants must be completed on time.
He said Kolikere, one of the oldest tanks in Dharwad will be developed on part with Sadhanakere and Unkala Kere at a cost of Rs. 13 Crore, out of which Rs. 9 Crore has been released.
Around 80 percent of the roads in his constituency have been concretised and the remaining works would be completed in one and a half years. Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project in twin cities was delayed following contractors’ issue. Now it has been set right, he said adding that soon a full-fledged super market complex would be built in Dharwad.
Minister also visited Kamalapur Owni in ward no. 5, Gollar Owni in ward no. 7, Durga Colony, Hebballi Agasi, KSRTC depot circle in ward no. 8 and Charantimath Garden in ward no. 9 and heard public grievances.
Hubballi Dharwad Muncipal Corporation Commissioner Major (Retd) Siddhalingayya, Corporator Anand Singhnath and others were present.
