Dharwad: District Principal and Sessions Judge V Shreeshanand has asked the officials concerned to strictly implement the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act besides undertaking extensive awareness programmes in this regard.
Speaking after inaugurating a one-day workshop for officials on Acts concerning prevention of sexual assault, compulsory right to education and prohibition of child marriage here at Dr. B R Ambedkar Bhavan on Friday.
Officials must make use of workshop to discuss the ways and means to avoid such social menaces and execute related Acts, he said.
Dr. Anand Pandurang highlighted on continued child marriages in our nation despite existence of laws to prevent them. He stressed on creating awareness particularly in rural areas in this regard.

Dr. S R Manjula, BEO (Rural) and M L Hanchate delivered special lecture on the occasion. Release of pamphlets and puppet show were also held on the occasion.
