Dharwad: With less than 72 hours to go for the 84th edition of the Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, which will be held in Dharwad between January 4 and 6, the district administration has sought Rs 2 crores additional grant from the state government. Revenue minister R V Deshpande, who is also the district in-charge minister, will hold a review meeting of the preparations on Tuesday evening.
According to sources, the state government has already released Rs 8 crores for the Sammelana. But the now, the district administration has sought another Rs 2 crores for the preparations.
“Originally, all the 20 committees had prepared a blueprint for Rs 15 crores expenditure. It was brought down to Rs 12.13 crores later. But a committee led by ZP CEO B C Satish brought down the expenses to Rs 10.64 crores,” informed sources.
“Rs 30 lakhs has been collected by the general public and CSR funding,” added the sources.
