Dharwad: Congress leader and President of Dharwad district unit H.V. Madalli passed away at a private hospital here in the wee hours of Wednesday. Madalli was undergoing treatment at the hospital after having met with an accident while campaigning for Navalgund Congress candidate Vinod Asuti at Shalavadi on Monday night.
Reportedly Madalli had suffered head injuries after he fell from a bullock cart during the campaign rally. An unconscious Madalli was rushed to the hospital. He, however did not respond to treatment and passed away around 3:30am on May 9.
AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and others had visited the hospital on Tuesday night. Expressing his condolences at Madalli’s demise, KPCC President Dr. Parameshwara in a tweet said:
“Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of H V Madalli, DCC President, Dharwad Rural. He was a relentless worker and a sincere political leader. A great loss to INCKarnataka. May his soul rest in peace and god give strength to his family members during these trying times.”
