Dharwad: The members of All-India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) and Job Seekers’ Struggle Committee have demanded the government to clear the confusions surrounding the notification on recruitment of 10,000 teachers.

In a memorandum sent to the state education minister through the deputy commissioner, they said that the recruitment notification issued by the government on August 24, on appointment of 10,000 primary school teachers had given rise to many confusions.

“First of all, the government is not recruiting primary school teachers for first to fifth standard. Further, the department is looking forward to recruit only graduates as teachers but there are thousands of job aspirants who have completed PUC and D Ed and passed Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) and they are not being considered for the recruitment”, they said.

AIDYO demanded that all TET passed candidates must be allowed to apply for the posts.
They pointed out that there was no sensible link between the subjects taught during the D Ed training and the subjects required in the notification.

All the flaws in the notification must be set right and reissued, they demanded.

AIDYO District Vice President Ramesh Hosmani, Secretary Bhavanishankar Gowda, Joint Secretary Hanumesh Huded and others were part of the delegation.
