Davangere: BJP leader and MLA MP Renukacharya has in a way stoked yet another controversy with his latest statement about Tablighi Jamaat attendees.

Speaking about the attendees of the Jamaat, the MLA, who is also the political secretary of the Chief Minister has said that some of the attendees of the reigious meet have been purposely evading the testing for COVID-19 and there is nothing wrong in shooting down such people.

While maintaining that some of them have been involving in a different kind of terrorism indirectly, the MLA however, said that it was wrong to blame the entire community for the misdeeds of the few.

“It so seems that while dying they want to kill others too,” he said in Davangere adding that a lot of problems could have been reduced if the attendees had visited the doctors after returning from the meeting.

He said that those who have been purposely evading testing must be called as ‘traitors’ and the government should not protect them.

Tablighi meet held last month has become the hotbed of COVID-19, spiking the number of positive cases across the country drastically.
