Karnataka reports biggest single-day spike of 63 COVID-19 cases; Tally rises to 925

covid ktaka 12052020Davanagere: As many as 21 more people tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday evening, bringing the day’s total to 63, the highest single-day jump the state has seen so far. This brings the state’s tally to 925.

Earlier in the day, 42 people tested positive for COVID-19.

Of the 21 new cases, 12 are from Davanagere, five are from Kolar, three are from Gadag, and one is from Bengaluru Urban.

Three of the cases from Kolar have a history of travel to Orissa and the source of infection of the other two are being traced.

Of the three cases from Gadag, one has a history of travel to Ahmedabad and two are contacts of Patient 514.

The source of infection of the case from Bengaluru Urban is being traced.

Of the 12 people from Davanagere (including a 9-month-old baby girl) who tested positive, six have a history of travel to Ahmedabad, two are contacts of Patient 695 and four are contacts of Patient 696.

Of the 925 cases in the state, 31 are deaths, one is a non-COVID caused death, and 433 are discharges.
