Davanagere: Veteran doctor in the health and family welfare department, Dr Ravindranath MH, who recently made headlines for switching to driving around an autorickshaw to eke out a living, has finally received his first posting in two years.
It can be recalled that a few days ago, Dr Ravindranath, a resident of the Mahalakshmi Layout near Kundavada in Davanagere, made headlines by driving an autorickshaw with the words “Harassed by the IAS officer’s misrule” scribbled on the front and back in Kannada and English.
The doctor, who had joined government service 20 years ago, had accused an IAS officer in Bellary of using “propaganda ” against him for his non-cooperation, which is why he had not received a posting for two years. Since he had no source of income, he was forced to work as a rickshaw driver in Davanagere for two years.
The large-scale media coverage of the doctor’s plight caught the attention of Health Minister B Sriramulu, who said that he would look into the matter.
As reported by TNM, Dr Ravindranath has informed that he will be joining duty as Koppal’s new District Family Welfare Officer.
Expressing his happiness at getting the posting, the doctor said that he is currently on his way to Koppal and will report for duty this evening.
Dr Ravindranth’s last posting was as the district Reproductive and Child Health Officer in Ballari.
