Davangere: A day after the Mysuru Bar Association refused to represent Nalini B, who is charged with sedition for holding a ‘Free Kashmir’ placard in a protest rally at the University of Mysore, advocates from Davangere have come forward to support her. The People’s Lawyer’s Guild (Davanagere) announced that it will represent Nalini B in the court if she agrees.
Guild Chairman Aneesh Pasha said that he is ready to represent Nalini if she agrees to use his services.
It can be recalled that Nalini, an alumna of the University of Mysore (UoM), held a placard that read “Free Kashmir” on January 8 during a protest organised in solidarity with victims of the JNU violence. She has been charged with sedition and has been granted interim bail by a local court.
Nalini also released a video in which she apologises for “creating confusion”.
