Davangere: The district that featured in the green zone till now with just 10 cases so far has shocked the entire state by registering 21 new positive cases in just one day.
On Sunday, as many as 21 new cases were reported from Davangere taking the district’s tally to 31.
The state’s total COVID-19 tally stood at 606 with five new cases on Sunday morning and Davangere did not feature in the list.
However, by evening the district alone witnessed a massive surge with 21 cases, said sources, leaving the district panic-stricken and on the verge of falling out of the green zone list.
The district had just one case initially. It then saw a major surge on May 1 with six new cases taking the total to ten cases.
Deputy Commissioner Mahantesh Bilagi has confirmed the same to a Kannada news channel.
