Davangere: The Santhepet Government Higher Primary School, Jagalur, Davanagere is now in the news for a unique reason. When most of the parents across the state are sending their kids to English medium schools in the name of providing them with quality education, a judge and a tahsildar have enrolled their children in this government school.
Jagalur Civil and JMFC judge G Thimmaiah and tahsildar Hullumani Thimmanna enrolled their children in this school and won the hearts of the locals.
Ishan, son of G Thimmaiah has been enrolled in class I, while Yashovardhan, son of tahsildar Thimmanna joined class VII. Thimmanna’s second son is also studying in a local Kannada medium school.
According to Thimmanna, he was able to crack the KPSC examinations due to the Kannada language. “Kannada shaped my life. So, I am sending my children to Kannada medium schools,” he said.
