Harihara: Bharatiya Janata Party is Communal whereas Janata Dal (Secular) is opportunistic , said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing an election rally here on May 3.
JDS supremo gets angry if questions are raised about the tacit understanding between the two parties, Siddaramaiah rued.
Denying H D Devegowda’s charges of him attempting to join BJP in 2004, Siddaramaiah asked, “ What would have been the fate of Janata Dal , if all three including myself, Ibrahim and Jarkiholi had not remained with the party when it split?”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after running out of all issues, has heaped praises on H D Devegowda. It would have been more beneficial, if he had taken a stance on Mahadayi issue instead, Siddaramaiah said.
Addressing the rally, senior Congress leader C M Ibrahim equated H D Kumaraswamy to a steering of a bus while relating self to the gear box and Siddaramaiah to the engine, in his characteristic style. After both left the party (JDS) only steering remained, Ibrahim chided.
JD(S) is an unstable party and sways by the tide, he remarked.
