UCA spreads joy of Christmas, hands over documents of house to poor

Mangaluru: A procession of tableaux spreading the message of birth of Jesus Christ was carried out by the United Christian Association, with celebrations on the streets of the city on Sunday, December 16.

The event was inaugurated by a peace message and flagging off the procession by former MLA J R Lobo.

The procession started from Kulshekar moved towards Kankanady, Hampankatta, Bejai and then returned back to Kulshekar.

At 7 PM in the evening a cultural programme was organized at the Silver Gate.

The guests of the programme Supervisor of Jeevan Daan Gururpur Sr.Josy, principal of Ullal Dargah Junior College Swarib Saqaafi, parish priest of Kulshekhar Church Rev Fr. Victor Machado and Mayor Bhaskar delivered the message stating that the message spread by Jesus Christ shall be implemented in the social activities which one does.

Meantime, UCA handed over the documents of five houses which are being built in the Kulshekar surrounding to the poor families.

State President of UCA Alban Menezes presided over the function.

Office bearers Joyce Rebello, Sylvester D’Souza Sasthan, Paul Lobo, Philip D’Souza, Clifford D’Souza, and Joe Rego were present.

Roshan Crasta compered the programme.

Food was served, marking the end of the programme.
