Bengaluru: Journalist and writer Sahiti Manjunath Chand said that the stories of Satish Shetty Wakwadi’s `Ajja Netta Halasina Mara’ collection comprising the cultural roots of his home town of Kundapur are a response to the current angst.
He was speaking at the launch of Satish Shetty Wakwadi’s book ‘Ajja Netta Halasina Mara’ on Sunday March 28 in collaboration with Panchami Media Publications and Book Brahma.
Professor and author Malar Wili spoke about how the tree is very basic and traditional. “The author’s wish to symbolize religion as part of our culture is indeed remarkable. We can also see that there is ecological consciousness. The illustrations in the work are not only new in appearance, but also include new proverb phrases that exemplify the author’s story,” he said.
Praveen Kumar Shetty was president of the function. Kaviraj, composer of Kannada cinema, Satish Shetty Wakwadi, author-publisher Sridhara Banavasi, Upendra Shetty, president of Bantara Sangha, Revathi Shetty and others were also present.
