Moras Charitable Foundation distributes 25 scholarships to needy students

Mangaluru: Moras Charitable Foundation distributed scholarships to 25 meritorious students during a programme held at Kuppepadav church auditorium on July 1. The initiative was taken with the intention of making a small but favorable difference to students lives in small ways.

Rev. Dr Bernard Moras, Emeritus Archbishop of Bengaluru and President of the trust handed over the cheques to the 25 students and wished them well. Dr Richard Vincent D’souza , the CEO of Hutti Gold Mine Company was also present on the occasion. In his speech, Dr Richard stressed the importance of obtaining Government jobs and entering into Civil services.

Meritorious students, irrespective of their religion were selected on the basis of their family background, study pattern and their aim for the future.

During the programme, students introduced themselves and spoke about their career goals, which included becoming engineers, pharmacist, professional chef, chartered accountants, teacher/lecturer IAS officer and government sector employees . Students selected for the scholarships were in Secondary school under-university college or pursuing under graduate studies.

Fr Edwin F. Pinto, joint secretary and trustee of Moras Foundation compered the programme. Trustees of Foundation-Joseph Moras, John Moras, Edmond Moras, Moras, Oswald Moras, Monica Pinto, Vijay Moras, Cruz Moras and church parish priest Fr Valerian D’Souza were present on the occasion.
