Mangaluru: The World Konkani Communication Web Conference was inaugurated by Basti Vaman Shenoy, Founder, President, World Konkani Centre virtually on Saturday June 12. After inauguration he informed the audience about the mission and various programmes undertaken by the centre.
In the first phase, the first person to introduce Konkani in teaching at Mangaluru, Kasturi Mohan Pai give a lecture on “The antiquity of Konkani language with many examples of Konkani language and its close relationship with Sanskrit and languages ??of Vedic and literary times.
As a second session, Rama Murthy Acharya of California, USA, the President of North American Konkani Conference and Organisation President gave a lecture on Konkani people and language abroad, for Konkani speakers living in India and abroad. He spoke in detail about the various initiatives taken by the Konkani people living abroad for over three generations to save the language and culture.
