ICYM Mangaluru Diocese Central Council formed

Mangaluru: The 68th Annual General Body meeting and election for  ICYM Central council 2015-16 was held at Bejai Church hall here on Sunday.

ICYM National Director Fr Franklin D Souza presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration held in the morning. In his homily, he stressed on the importance of service and dedication of the leaders.

This was followed by a General Body meeting led by ICYM President Ms Melreeda Rodrigues, in which the secretary presented the annual report. The statement of annual account was presented and approved and suggestions from the house were taken for coming year.

The election for the President of ICYM was then conducted leading to the formation of the ICYM Central Executive Committee for the year 2015 -16. The elected central committee members are as follows:

President: Mr Alwyn D Souza, Agrar
General Secretary: Mr Jackson Eric D Costa, Vamadapadav
Vice president: Mr Vishwas avinash Lobo, Bannur
Lady Vice President: Nishitha D Souza, Manjeshawar
Joint secretary: Roshel Reema Mascarenhas, Puttur
Treasurer: Mr Wilson D Souza, Allipade
Auditor: Anish D Souza, Surathkal

The concluding programme held in the evening was presided over by Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu. In his presidential address he appreciated the efforts and activities carried out by the central council and wished success to the new central council. He distributed the honors to 10 best ICYM Units of the diocese.

Following are the best ten ICYM units of the diocese which were honored for their active participation: Bajpe, Cordel, Paneer ,Permannur ,Paladka ,Moodbidri ,Taccode, Madanthyar, Maril ,Loretto.

National Adviser of ICYM Raymond D Souza, Mangalore city Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Parish Priest, Bejai Fr Wilson Titus D Souza, Director ICYM Fr Ronald Prakash D Souza and all the executive members of ICYM were present on the dais.

Raymond, in his chief guest address said that the youth must come to the national level in all the fields especially in civil services.

Fr Ronald D’Souza Director ICYM appreciated the selfless work of the central committee and also the work done in parish and deanery levels.

During the programme the names of new central committee were announced, the responsibilities were handed over to the new office bearers with the oath lead by Fr Ronald. On the occasion the new Mayor Mrs Jacintha Alfred was also honored.

Director of Sandesha Fr Victor Vijay Lobo and his team conducted the elections, Ms Melreeda welcomed the gathering, and Ms Venisha proposed the vote of thanks. Winston Urva compered the programme.
