Mangaluru : ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese with the motive of Red Drop Campaign has opened its 4th ICYM Blood Account with the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 at Ladygoschen Hospital, Mangaluru.
Meer Manish Sequeira, Auditor, ICYM Mangalore Diocese donated blood on his 23rd birthday and he is the first donor of ICYM Blood Account at Red Cross Society, Mangaluru along with his friends Melroy Veigas and Frayan Dcosta who donated blood to the ICYM Blood Account (Red Cross Society). Jaison Leroy Periera Shirthady, current President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Jackson Eric Dcosta Vamadapavu, Founder ICYM Blood Account were present.
In the year 2016 – 2017, during the 70 Year celebration of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, ICYM Blood Accounts were opened in 3 blood banks of Fr. Mullers Blood Bank Kankanady, AJ Blood Bank Kuntikana and KMC Blood Bank Jyothi under the leadership of ICYM Diocesan President Jackson Eric Dcosta, Vamadapavu.
In the year 2017 – 2018, ICYM Blood Account was promoted under the initiative of Red Drop Campaign with the inspirational tagline “Tear Drops Cannot Save Lives But Blood Drops Can”. On 15 August 2017 ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese organized Voluntarily Blood Donation Campaign through Red Drop Campaign under ICYM Blood Account in 3 blood banks as well Blood Donation Camps were organized through Deanery and Unit level. Also donors have donated blood on their special occasions like birthday or friends birthday throughout out the year. ICYM Blood Account has saved many lives till date.
