Mangaluru: “Harmony with all the religions is the need of the hour. As Christians, we have a big responsibility to build the society. Small Christian Community is the foundation for formation of good society. It is the ever flowing spring to build good rapport with society. Living together with all the religions should be our motto” said Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rt Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha on the occasion of SCC Silver Jubilee closing ceremony at Holy Family Church, Omzoor, Mermajal, Mangalore.

Earlier all the former Priests and Assistant Priests, present Parish Priest Rev Fr Alwyn D’Cunha along with the main celebrant Rt Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha concelebrated the Jubilee Mass. Rev Fr Joachim Fernandes delivered the homily. On this occasion former Parish Priests Rev Fr Xavier Pintio, Rev Fr Andrew D’Souza, Rev Fr Cyril Pinto, Rev Fr Edwin Mascarehas, Rev Fr Joachim Fernandes, Rev Fr Boniface Pinto and present Priest Rev Fr Alwyn D’Cunha and all the former and present Conveners, Shri Joseph Veigas, Shri Patrick Pinto, Shri James Lewis and Smt Philomena Monteiro were felicitated.

On behalf of parish, Bishop Rt Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha was honoured. As a part of celebration felicitation was held for parish couples who celebrated Golden and Silver Jubilee during the last one year. The national awardee by Ministry of Earth Sciences Shri Ronald John Vaz was also honoured. The 25th year was celebrated with variety of programmes with the leadership of Rev Fr Alwyn D’Cunha.
