Golden Jubilee celebrations begin at Church of St. Joseph the Worker

Mangaluru: The Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Church of St. Joseph the Worker, Neermarga began on April 21.

The 10-day celebrations began with the traditional “Horekanike” procession. The chief guest for the event, Judicial Vicar of Mangalore Diocese Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello accepted the offerings made by the devotees and unfurled the flag to begin the celebrations. The procession began at Volacchil and proceeded to the church at Neermarga.

As part of the celebrations, attractive programmes have been planned from April 21 till April 30. The current Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’Mello has taken the command for organising these events.

Parish Pastoral Parishad Vice President Prakash Pereira, Secretary Gerald Lobo, Convener Arun D’Souza, Publicity Committee Member Prasad Pereira Vas and media consultant E Fernandes of Fourwinds were present for the inauguration ceremony.
