Mangaluru: The feast of confraternity (Compricho Aithar) was celebrated with traditional joy and gaiety on 30 September 2018 at Guardian angel Church, Angelore. As anticipation for the Parish feast that is on 2nd October, the entire parish got together in huge numbers on this blessed day.
The Eucharistic Celebration began at 5.30 pm with Rev. Msng. Maxim Noronha, as the Main Celebrant. He, in his homily stressed on the importance of having a healthy small christian community. He emphasized the need for each one to consider the Church as one big family. He said, “Let’s come, share and dine together.”
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession where the entire parish community, the young and the old took part in it. The musical band, the prayerful singing of the parishioners, and the colourful decoration all along the way with quotes from the scripture added magnificence to the entire celebration. Rev. Fr. William Menezes, the Parish priest and Fr. Denzil Lobo, the Assistant Parish priest along with the leaders of the wards took extra initiative in encouraging the parishioners all along the week in their preparations for this day.
After the procession the parishioners assembled at the Capitanio school grounds to participate in the Benediction.
The entire proceeding of the Confraternity Sunday displayed nothing but the immense faith that the parishioners still have in the Church and in the Lord.
