Mangaluru: As many as 47 SSLC, 2nd PUC and final year degree meritorious students of the 2017-18 batch, were honoured by the Catholic Sabha – Bondel on September 2 at the Bondel Church Hall. The Sabha also celebrated Professional Day in honour of teachers, doctors, nurses, government employees and businessmen of Bondel area.
The twin events were presided over by Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest of Bondel. Walter D’Souza, founder of the Catholic Aabha and entrepreneur, was the chief guest. They both stressed the need of education and participation of the younger generation in pan-India projects.
Lancy D’Cunha was felicitated at this programme for being re-elected as the President of the All India Catholic Union for a second term.
Fr Leo Veigas, spiritual director, Francis Viegas, secretary to the parish council and Victor Corea, city vardo president, were present. Unit president, Wilfred Alvares welcomed the gathering and Lynette Pinto, Secretary, gave a vote of thanks. Preeti D’Souza compered the programme.
