Annual feast of St. Joseph Vas Shrine celebrated with thousands of devotees

Mangaluru: The second day of Annual Feast 2018 of St. Joseph Vas Shrine, Mudipu was celebrated here on Friday, December 7.

The mass was rendered by Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Most Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldhana at 10.30 AM.

Bishop Peter Paul said, “St. Joseph Vas is a role model for all of us. The values of St. Joseph Vas, in which he had treated even the commonest of the common, with utmost love and affection, if inculcated within us, even we too can be close Jesus.”

“When parents treat their children selflessly, then they too will become close to almighty”, he added.

As this was the first mass that Bishop Peter Paul Saldhana rendered, he was later felicitated. As a token of love and appreciation Director of St. Joseph Vas Shrine Rev Fr. Benjamin Pinto felicitated Bishop with a sapling.

He later planted the sapling in front of the shrine.

Rev Fr. Benjamin Pinto thanked each one of them who part took in the celebrations.

Vice President and Secretary of Mudipu Church Parenting Committee Roshan D’Souza and Marcel D’Souza were present.

Rev Fr. Vijay Machado managed the mass.

Food was served after the mass.

Thousands of devotees had gathered during the occasion.
