Chitradurga: Swimming proved fatal for three high school students who drowned in Kempammanakere lake near Heggere village of Hosadurga taluk on October 20.
Their bodies were recovered by the police and fire personnel the next day morning at 7 AM.
Kantharaj, Mahantesh and Kemparaju, all 9th grade students of Laxmi Ranganatha Rural High School are the deceased.
The search that began to trace the missing students last evening, was deferred due to poor visibility and then resumed the next morning. Bodies of the 14-year-old students, all residents of Heggere village were retrieved from the lake this morning.
A case has been registered at the Srirampura Police Station.
