Chitradurga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been accused of using the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Airport, here on Monday, April 8.
As the stage is set for PM Modi’s arrival in the district on April 9 noon at the DRDO Airport, located in Challakere town, the political parties including Congress have raised a question on the grounds that it amounted to violation of code of conduct by PM Modi under misuse of government-owned properties.
After the issue went viral on the social media, Superintendent of Police Dr. K Arun clarified that there was no violation of code of conduct in this regard.
He clarified, “There are no official programmes in the DRDO area. Hence, there is no question of violation of the election model code of conduct and the security measures are being taken since it is the prime minister arriving. This is why the DRDO Airport is being used for landing and taking off of PM’s aircraft.”
