Chitradurga: The car in which prominent litterateur Naeem Surakoda was travelling towards Bengaluru to receive the Rajyotsava Award, met with an accident on Chikkabennur NH 4, near Bharamasagara, here on Thursday, November 29 morning.
Surakoda’s car collided with an autorickshaw killing one person and seriously injuring another.
The deceased Siddesh (31) is from Hampanoor village.
According to the sources, Siddesh was on his way for a goat fair towards the district during which, a car in which Naeem Surakoda and his family, travelling from Belagavi’s Ramadurga to Bengaluru in full speed, rammed into the autorickshaw from behind, living the former dead on the spot.
Surakoda had minor injuries on his head for which he was treated at a local hospital, after which he and his family left for the award ceremony.
The Bharamasagara Police have visited the spot and conducted an inquest.
A case has been filed in the same police station.
