Chithradurga: A trouble-creator bear that had attacked and injured several people, which was beaten up by the locals, succumbed to injuries on Thursday. A video clipping of villagers beating a bear with wooden clubs had gone viral.
After several weeks of living under constant fear of bear attacks, the villagers of Uppanayanakanahalli in Chithradurga stoned and beat up the bear, which made its way into the village on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was aired on local television channels and the same went viral.
After receiving the information, forest officials said they reached the spot and took the bear to a nearby zoo where it was given treatment. But, it succumbed to injuries on Thursday.
