Chikkaballapura: A youth who was allegedly harassed by the police committed suicide here at Chintamani town in Chikkaballpura. Munavar Pasha, a resident of Vinayaka Nagara is the deceased.
Chintamani police had taken Pasha into custody on Sunday for questioning in connection with a theft case. Family members had alleged that even though he was not involved in the theft case, he was forcefully taken to the station by the police.
Now that Pasha has committed suicide, family members have been alleging that Chintamani police are responsible for his death. Enraged family members kept the body in front of the station and agitated. They urged higher officials who arrived at the spot to give justice.
Police officers forcefully arrest innocents and harrass them in custody while investigating any case. The Higher authorities of the police department are required to pay attention and punish those officers who harass innocents, urged locals.
