Chikkaballapur: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who was scheduled to inagurate a mega dairy project in the district returned without taking part in the ceremony soon after the Election Commisssion enforced the code of conduct in the state. The  model code of conduct came into force, the moment EC announced the polling schedule for the assembly elections in the state at 11 AM today.

CM was scheduled to inagurate the Kolar-Chikkaballapur Milk Producers’ Union dairy project costing Rs 160 Crore on March 27 but only paid a visit to the unit instead.

On his way back, he took a private car and dropped the government vehicle at the venue and informed the crowd gathered around about the EC’s directive.

EC’s directive denies food to Congress party supporters!

Meanwhile, there are reports of Superitendent of Police (SP) Karthik Reddy and Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of seizing utensils along with the food kept for serving at an event arranged by Cochimul Director  K V Nagaraj.

Nagaraj had hosted a grand lunch for his supporters after he joined Congress party in the presence of chief minister. The moment district authorities sniffed EC’s code of conduct violations, they rushed to the spot and chased away all supporters of Nagaraj at the venue and registered a case against him.

Most of invitees got a taste of EC’s directive and returned without having lunch !
